RATE CALCULATIONS

Daily rates are calculated in daylight office hours 8.00 am to 4.30 pm, 7 days excluding public holidays. Pickup day is counted as Day One, regardless fo pickup time.

Drop off day is counted as Last Day, regardless of drop off time. Pick up and drop off times outside these hours can be made by arrangment only. Fees apply.

During peak periods and special events, rate variations apply. These are included in your quote where applicable.

Hire Bond / Insurance Excess
PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR BOND/ EXCESS OPTION

WHAT IS INSURANCE EXCESS? An excess is the amount of money you must pay in the event of an insurance claim following an accident should the damage amount be higher than the excess.

WHAT IS A BOND? A bond is an amount of money we hold to cover the excess amount plus any costs or losses to driveabout campers should you require a claim or you damage the vehicle up to this amount. The amount will be refunded when you return the vehicle in the same condition it was rented to you and without an accident claim. We inspect the vehicle upon return and refund immediately, except on an airport or direct address return then the bond will be refunded within 7 days

In the event of an accident in which you are not at fault, we will hold your bond until the 3rd party agrees to pay our costs . once theses costs are met we will refund to you your bond less admin fees. Where we are unable to recover costs then it is the renter’s responsible to recover the excess money from the third party. Please note some insurance claims can take months or even years to resolve.

NOTE : IT IS NOT COMPULSARY FOR VEHICLES IN AUSTRALIA TO HAVE THIRD PARTY PROPERTY DAMAGE INSURANCE

You will not be covered by insurance and will be liable for all damages and losses and costs to Driveabout Campers and third parties if you drive illegally, affected by alcohol or drugs. It is a crime in all states of Australia to do so.

Option 2 for all drivers and age groups includes 2 tyre replacements and unlimited punctures. 1 windscreen and unlimited chips up to 1 windscreen replacement. Accidental internal damage upto $300.00 in total claims (For example, if you accidently damaged the fridge door and the cost of repair was $150.00 then there would be no charge to you, the renter) no administration fees for traffic infringes.
IMPORTANT

All standard bonds are payable up front prior to your rental. Options 1 and 2 are credit card swipe/imprint only. They do not remove funds from your account. They do not freeze funds from being used in your account.
Driveabout campers also recommends you purchase your own travel insurance. Insurance does not cover for lost or stolen items. All insurance is void where a breach of agreement occurs as per terms and conditions
